Members of the genus Fosterella are somewhat rare in cultivation. Fosterella spectabilis, while indeed rarely found in the market, is neverthe less an ideal beginner bromeliad. This plant is suited to a very wide variety of light and humidity conditions. It is easy to flower and generous with offsets and seed. The folage is green, soft, and spineless from 12- 18 inches. The plant flowers from the center. The spike is somewhat lax with salmon colored, bell shaped flowers. Shipped as mature divisions best suited to a 5-6 inch pot. The plant shown is in a 6 inch pot. Plants shipped are 1/4 this size and will grow very quickly!
